April/May 2003 Newsletter

Our meeting was held in April at the Sun Coast RV Park in Lake Park, GA. Members present were Laverta and Larry Bishop, Sue and George Daws, Tom Halloman, Evelyn and Bill McCall, Margie Roberts (guest Marian Baumann) and Clarice Tyler. A prayer was given by Clarice followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Margie read the minutes and Evelyn gave the treasurer’s report.

We received a thank you letter from the Winnie Gators Past-President Philip Halstead for our parking duties at the Rally in Orlando. Margie gave highlights of her adventure in donating the use of her RV to the Florida State Film School to help with the production of a movie. Everyone enjoyed a hotdog feast provided by Tom. Shopping at the Outlet Stores is always fun for all. One night we watched a funny movie at the recreation building which was shared by Sue and George. We dined at numerous good restaurants while there.

Our May meeting was planned for St. Augustine but due to many not being able to attend and “troubles” along the way Clarice and Margie ended up in Lake Park, GA instead. Clarice’s keys were locked inside her Motorhome while filling up with gas and Margie had a blowout on I-10 only 40 miles from home. Seemed like an Omen not to go to St. Augustine. Clarice’s Aunt Lura and Margie’s sister Mary were guests. Everyone enjoyed a leisurely time shopping, eating and resting.

Sue mailed all the members the changes in our meeting schedules with dates and locations. Our June 17-19 meeting will be at the Suwanee Valley Campground (near White Springs, FL). You should make your own reservations 8 days before arrival. The phone number is 386-397-1667. Hope to see everyone there!
