Our August meeting was held near Franklin, NC at the Cullasaja River RV Park. George Daws presided at our meeting. Bill McCall led the pledge of allegiance. Treasurer Evelyn McCall received a letter from the homeless shelter thanking us for our donation.

Wagonmaster Sue Daws said our next meeting will be September 16-18 at Cottonhill Corps of Engineer Park near Fort Gaines, GA. We plan to have soup with Tom providing soup stock and tomatoes, Evelyn mixed vegetables, Margie potatoes and onions, Clarice cornbread and Sue dessert. Our October meeting is scheduled for Andersonville, GA on October 1, 2 and 3.

Everyone enjoyed our trip to North Carolina. The weather was fairly cool and we were able to sit outside as well as have 2 cookouts of hamburgers and hotdogs. Birthdays were celebrated with a carrot cake, cards and singing for Margie and George during one of our cookouts. We had lunches at the Dilliard House, Jarrett House and Sunset Restaurant in Franklin. Shopping was wonderful in Franklin, Dillsboro and Highlands. Sue Poss taught us a new card game called “Push” which was quite a challenge but enjoyable.
