December 2003 Newsletter

  

Our meeting was held at Sugarmill Campground near Thomasville, GA December 14-17, 2003. Members present were Sue and George Daws, Bill and Evelyn McCall, Margie Roberts, Clarice Tyler and Tom Holloman. Guests were Carlos Bowers and Junior Owen. Tom’s daughter Anna Lynn who lives in Thomasville joined us for supper on Tuesday.

 

President Clarice began with a prayer. Bill led the pledge of allegiance. Margie read the minutes. Wagonmaster Sue discussed our future meetings. The January meeting will be a luncheon on January 7 at 11:30 at Marie Livingston’s Steakhouse on North Monroe Street in Tallahassee. Our WIT Eastern Area Representatives John and Marlyn Fischer will be joining us for lunch. Feb. 8-11 we will meet at Sugarmill Campground again. March 10-16 will be the Winnie-Gators State Rally in Orlando. April 21-25 we are meeting in Perry, GA with the Georgia State Rally.

 

Sunday night Tom brought Chili for everyone. Monday we enjoyed the Daws’ Brunswick Stew. Tuesday lunch was at the Farmer’s Market Restaurant in Thomasville. Tuesday night we enjoyed a Christmas party with hotdogs and snacks. Afterwards we exchanged gifts. Wednesday morning we had a breakfast of biscuit, sausage and Mayhew jelly which is Clarice’s specialty. There was Christmas homemade goodies brought by everyone. The weather was cold but we did have an outdoor fire twice.

 

In closing our meeting, Sue told us a heartwarming true story about a little boy.
