February 2003 Newsletter

Our February meeting was held at Emerald Lake Campground in Donalsonville, GA on Jan. 31-Feb. 2. Members present were Larry and Laverta Bishop, Louise Bowen, Sue and George Daws, Evelyn and Bill McCall, Margie Roberts, Marian Baumann, and Clarice Tyler. We were pleased to have Marlyn and John Fischer, WIT Eastern Area Representatives, join us for our campout.

$50 will be sent to the Winnie-Gators for prizes during the State Rally in Orlando. The Daws', McCall's, Margie and Clarice are planning to attend. They will arrive on Thursday to help with the parking.

Clarice had a craft project making Valentine hearts which everyone enjoyed. Sue gave a demonstration of different toilet tissues for motorhomes and how they absorb in water. Angel Soft was the brand which absorbed the best.

John Fischer had information on WIT tours. He also visited our local new Winnebago Itasca dealer Larry Taylor at Pepco and encouraged him to sponsor a club. Larry Bishop will be visiting the dealer and representing our club in March.

Everyone enjoyed playing games during the weekend. Friday night a delicious soup and cornbread was served. The usual good desserts were enjoyed. Clarice provided her sausage, biscuit and Mayhew jelly for breakfast on Saturday. Saturday night we all ate at a seafood restaurant in Colquitt, GA. The door prize of wheel covers was won by Margie. The prize was donated to our club by our sponsor, Haberson-Swanson of Holiday, FL.

April 11-13 our meeting will be at Sun Coast RV Park Campground in Lake Park, GA.
