Caloosa Winnies

February 2004 Outing

Sun Lake RV Resort in Ruskin, Florida, February 5-8,2004 is a place and date that will live in Caloosa Winnies History forever.  For the Caloosa women, it has become hallowed ground.  On that date at that place there was a Bean Bag Baseball Tournament between the Caloosa Men and the Caloosa Women.  Two games were played on Friday and two games on Saturday.  The Women made a clean sweep!  Victory was very thrilling because the Women had never won a game against the men.  The Men were gracious in defeat :)

Paul & Marty Kirkner and Charley & Helen Nesley were our hosts for the weekend.  For several years The Caloosa Winnies have been contributing to the Florida Dog Guides For the Deaf, Inc. so our hosts arranged for representatives from that organization to put on a program for us.  It was very interesting and inspiring.

Guests, Robert & Karen Demmerle and Dave & Janet Carrington from the Onobago Chapter in New Your joined in the fun.  Karen and Janet especially had fun playing "31" with us in the evenings.

Lots of good food and fellowship filled the weekend and of course the Bean Bag Baseball Tournament was the high light.  For the Women that is!:)
