DuBol Winnies Local Chapter
March 2008 Outing

By Donna Weitzel

The DuBol Winnies believe in getting the most out of and putting the most into their State Rally.  Almost all of the 19 DuBol coaches attending the Florida State Rally at the Orlando Fairgrounds arrived two days early.  The rally ran from Thursday March 6 through Sunday March 9.   Three hundred and ten coaches attended the rally.  Orlando abounds in good restaurants, and during the “early” days our group always tries to soak up some of the local flavor.

The rally was a great success.  We had more vendors than ever (52) and three Winnebago/Itasca dealers brought  coaches to lure our members into acquiring the newest and best on today’s market.  There was a Freedom walk, Games galore (15 separate games for everyone to try to score on), a Pet Parade, Arts and Crafts Competition and some downright fantastic entertainment – not to mention lots of good food.

The DuBols donated 4 baskets and 2 cakes to the Freedom Walk (which some people from the old school call a cake walk) and in the Arts and Crafts competition took First and Second Place Ribbons in Oil Painting, a Second Place Ribbon in Photography and First, Second and Third Place Ribbons in Shirt Decorating.

Each local chapter in Florida has assigned duties and it is amazing how everyone pulls together to get everything done and still have time to participate in events and relax with friends.  Sounds impossible but it works.
