DuBol Winnies Celebrate Turkey Day in Florida

 

Twenty six coaches gathered at Kelly's Country RV Park in Callahan, Florida to celebrate an early Thanksgiving gathering for the club on November 20 – November 23.  Food and fellowship were abundant and everyone welcomed back returning member Mabel Moorhead and enjoyed a tour of her new 2009 Suncruiser.  The highlight of the weekend (other than food and fun) was the Charity Auction to benefit Hope Therapy in Middleburg, Florida.  Hope Therapy uses communication with and riding of horses to help various types of handicapped children and adults.  Each Winnebago coach brings at least 2 good items for the auction, that they do not need any more.  All bid on the items "each hoping to find a treasure" for their home or RV.  The biding is encouraged, cajoled, begged and prodded by Auctioneer Jack Caffrey, our incoming Vice President for 2009.  His endurance and good natured antics are appreciated by everyone and "laughter is the best medicine" is the byword for the evening.  All proceeds from the auction are sent directly to the Hope Therapy Charity.   Everyone gathered Sunday morning for a quick breakfast before departing and to learn how successful the auction was.  This year we topped all previous years by raising over a thousand dollars for Hope Therapy.
