Funtime Travelers
February 2002 Outing

The following article is submitted by Anne and Dean Crewdson, Co-Secretary, Funtime Travelers, Local Florida Chapter.

The Funtime Travelers February campout was held at Sun Lake RV Resort, Ruskin, FL, February 15-17, 2002.  Hosts for the weekend were Paul and Claire Madsen and Ted and Evelyn Meekma.  

By now all the snowbirds had left their cold Northern nests.  Eleven coaches arrived for our first chapter campout of the new year.  Additonally, several guests were in attendance, Eileen Bartell (Irene Dickelman's twin sister), Chet and Linda Neice from Englewood, FL, and Frank and Donna Randolph from Bradenton, FL.  Visitors for Saturday dinner were Jim and Judi Moeller from Amherst, NY, members of the Western NY Winnies.  Friday evening supper was soup and salad.  Each person contributed a can of any kind of soup which when combined turned into a very good soup after some reservations as to how it would end up.    The weekend activities included shopping, games, visiting, a pot luck dinner Saturday evening and a Chapter business meeting.  Discussion at the meeting involved our assignment at the March rally (parking detail) with our President organizing teams to cover the required days.  We learned that Martha Cole is continuing to improve after two knee operations and we hope her recovery will be complete soon.  The management of Sun Lake continues to provide excellent support and is still a favorite of our Chapter.
