Funtime Travelers
March 2002 Outing

The following article is submitted by Anne and Dean Crewdson, Co-Secretary, Funtime Travelers, Local Florida Chapter.

Fourteen coaches arrived at the Central Florida Fairgrounds, Orlando, FL for the Florida State Winnie-Gators  rally, March 16-18, 2002.  It all started for us Wednesday, March 13, when 9 coaches caravanned to arrive early to begin marking parking sites.  On Thursday those attendees who had signed up for the casino cruise began arriving.  By the end of opening day on Saturday we had parked approximately 308 coaches.  The parking teams President Marlatt had assigned endured 90 degree, sunny Florida weather getting everyone parked.  But our discomfort was worth it since this was our last turn at parking.  Next year, hopefully, it will be the ice cream detail.  After opening ceremonies on Saturday everyone was kept busy with a variety of activities including seminars, crafts, snacking, touring new Winnebagos brought in by several vendors, enjoying catered evening meals, and, of course, great entertainment Sunday and Monday evenings.

Those who were unable to attend this rally missed another great successful Florida State Rally organized by the Winnie-Gators Co-Presidents, Phil and Shirley Halstead and their officers,  and supported by all the local Florida chapters.
