May 2006 Outing

The May 19-21 State Meeting was at Southern Palms, Eustis , FL.   36 coaches attended the Rally.  Some arrived on Tuesday and all were here by Friday.

Thursday morning many of us went next door to the Flea Market for goodies and veggies.  Of course there was Happy Hour at 4PM in the hall and each day there after.  Thursday night was Pot Luck dinner night for the early arrivals.

Friday night brought a catered dinner by “Rainbow Caterers.”  Friday night also was Bingo night.  Our players seemed to really enjoy the games and the comradeship.  Some of our members played cards at other end of the hall.  It was a laid back evening.

Saturday morning breakfast buffet had scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy and O J. The food was great. (No dishes to wash or pans to scrub)  At 10AM we held our General meeting and took care of the business at hand.  Saturday afternoon those going to GNR met to set up a team for bean bag baseball.  Some of the men were playing horse shoes and a few of them were really good.  Also some of our members headed for the pool to cool off. The weather cooperated and we had a beautiful Rally.

At 6 o’clock the caterers were back with a lovely buffet dinner of salad, baked chicken, baked Ziti, broccoli, garlic sticks, assorted pies and iced tea.  Needless to say our diets went out the window!  After dinner the card players were back.

Sunday morning we had coffee, donuts and O J.  After breakfast we said our farewells, see you at GNR or I’ll see you in October or before at a chapter meeting.  Every one returned to their rigs to prepare for the trip home we all had a very enjoyable time. What a Great Rally!
