Chartered: 22 January
1986 I would like to introduce you to our local chapter of the Winnebago-Itasca Travelers. We have campouts the first weekend or first full week of each month, October through May. Who are we? We are chartered as the Seaside Winnies of Florida, one of 15 local chapters of the Florida State Winnie-Gators, who belong to the Winnebago family of motor home owners. We are guided by the by-laws of the Winnebago-Itasca Travelers (WIT). Each state club and each local chapter have their own by-laws, however, they must be approved by WIT. We are a cohesive group who like to get together to have fun, fellowship, do new things and camp in a variety of places. When it's time to work we all pitch in and work together. Our common bond is the ownership of a Winnebago-Itasca product. We meet from October through May. The State Rally is held in Orlando the middle of March. The summer finds our group heading off in different directions to do our own thing, many will head for Forest City, Iowa for the Grand National Rally in July. Most people will attend at least two outings before joining the chapter, however, you may certainly join at your first outing if you desire. You will find our dues are fair. Why should I join a chapter? We all asked that question when we were starting to motor home. We can travel on our own - go where we want - when we want. We don't need a chapter. That's all true and you can still go where you want-when you want, but with a chapter you will meet new people from all over the country and from all walks of life and best of all, make lasting friends. In addition there will be times that you will be going camping with the chapter, when otherwise the motor home would have been sitting in the driveway. Please try to work us into your schedule and attend our outing. We feel you will enjoy yourselves and we'd really like to meet you whether or not you decide to join our chapter.
