SEASIDE WINNIES of FLORIDA January 2007 Outing By Frank Caccavo Sr. Our January rally brought us to Tropical Palms R. V. Park in Kissimmee, Florida. We had another large group of 16 member coaches with members Marva & Steve Dreher attending without their coach. The rally was hosted by Stan & Helene White, who did a great job with such a large group. All of us arrived on Monday January 8,2006, however, we arrived at different times throughout the afternoon. Later that afternoon we met for our usual attitude adjustment to catch up since our last rally. It just so happened that there were two ladies in the campground whose R. V. had broken down. Sue Chonoles had made their acquaintance and found they had an interesting story to tell, she invited them to our attitude adjustment. Pat Odom & Lucie Tremblay came to speak on behalf of Breast Cancer awareness. They both took it upon themselves to travel the country, at their own expense, to alert people to Breast Cancer awareness. They made a point that it occurs in men as well, which took many of our group by surprise. They gave a lengthy talk with singing of songs in between. Our group was thankful for their program. That evening many of our members decided to go to Logan's Steak House. The club is getting so large (26 members coaches) that it is becoming very difficult to find restaurants that can accommodate all of us. Most of the day Tuesday we were on our own to discover the wilds of Kissimmee. Camping World was a favorite spot. Many of us sat around playing a new game that was introduced at the last campout. It is a mix of horseshoes and pitch a quarter. We had a lot of fun. That afternoon, at our attitude adjustment, Jim & Denise Yale from Thousand Trails Campgrounds gave a presentation on the attributes of that organization. Many were aware of Thousand Trails, however, they made an interesting presentation and our group enjoyed it. That evening we had a wonderful pot luck supper. It is amazing how talented our group is in the culinary arts. Maybe that's why many of us have a weight problem. After dinner many stayed to play games in the clubhouse a fun time was had by all. Wednesday morning we had our general meeting after which many of us went to lunch. Cracker Barrel was having Chicken Pot Pie as their special and some of our member drooled at the prospect. That afternoon at attitude adjustment we discussed the driving arrangements for this large group to our dinner adventure. That evening we all went to Pirates Dinner Adventure in downtown Orlando. This was a raucous show of Pirates on a large ship crossing swords and fighting. In between they served dinner which was difficult to see since the lights were turned down for the show. Maybe it was best since we might not want to see what we were eating. Thursday Morning we all met for a continental breakfast hosted by Stan & Helene White. We all sat around chatting and eating till it was time to hug each other and say our goodbyes. We all wished each other a safe trip home. See you all next month. Emil Gaudet 863-420-3149
