SEASIDE WINNIES of FLORIDA

November 2006 outing

By Frank Caccavo Sr.

Once again our November Rally brought us to Disney's Fort Wilderness R. V. Park. We had a group of 12 coaches with two guest coaches Jim & Sharon Rose and Stan & Marie Cidlowski. The Rose's liked us so much they later joined our club. This Rally was hosted by Frank & Marie Caccavo and Bob & Gayle Cook who did a super job of organizing this rally.

All of us arrived on Monday November 6,2006. After setting up we began greeting each other. Most of us hadn't seen each other since May so there were lots of tall tales to talk about our escapades of the summer. That afternoon we all met for our usual attitude adjustment. There were lots of stories and of course lots of snacks to munch on.

Our hosts gave out an itinerary, however , there were some decisions that had to be made namely where to eat that evening. Many of us decided to eat at the campground at the Trail's End restaurant in Fort Wilderness. Some of us went to an early sitting and were extremely unhappy with the fare. Those of us who went later didn't find it bad at all. In fact we found it quite good. I guess there are different strokes for different folks,

Tuesday morning many of us met to go for breakfast at the Outpost in Fort Wilderness. After a terrific breakfast and much chit chatting over coffee we all went our separate ways to explore the wonderful world of Disney. Some went to downtown Disney to shop others went to some of the different parks and some just hung around the campground.

That afternoon we didn't have our attitude adjustment due to the fact that we had an early dinner scheduled at Ohana's in the Polynesian Village. We wined and dined too our heart's content. There was so much food we couldn't move afterwards. There also was an Hawaiian woman who led songs and stories about Hawaii. After dinner we wondered about, some saw the f1f~works and others traveled the transportation system around Disney.

Wednesday morning we had our business meeting. We were visited by RV Joey from AM radio who hosts a show called RV Talk. He told some nice stories a gave a great presentation. He offered to help us with any problems we might have. After the meeting we again traveled on our own to explore Disney. That afternoon we met for our attitude adjustment to tell of our adventures. We all returned to our coaches afterwards for naps, cards, etc. waiting for our late dinner. That evening while waiting for dinner some of US went to see the fireworks display. Disney sure knows how to put on a show. Dinner that evening was at the Hoop-de-doo Revue. We all had a rip~roaring time with plenty of food and drink. One of our group, Clint White, was selected by the actors to go up on stage. They dressed him in a fairy costume and paraded him around the stage, This was hilarious because, you see Clint is this big strapping ex Marine. We nearly died from laughter .

Thursday morning we all met for a continental breakfast put on by our hosts. Gayle Cook did a great job but bought way too much food; however, with our group they tried to eat it all. We lingered but finally it was time for hugs and goodbyes. We all wished each other a safe trip home.
