Our first rally of the season (Oct. 5 - 9) was held at the Tropical Palms Resort in Kissimmee, FL. Patty and Elwood Owens were our hosts and although it was their first time hosting a rally, they handled it like pros. We had 7 coaches, all which arrived on Sunday, our early day. We had a wonderful time sitting around outdoors, hearing about each other’s summer adventures (and occasional misadventures). A little rain didn‘t dampen our spirits. Supper was on our own, some dined out, others ate in, and later we got together in the clubhouse to play our old, favorite card game, “Screw Your Neighbor“.

On Monday we were joined by guests Ned and Linda Evans, bringing us up to 8 coaches. Since we were not far from a Camping World Store several of the guys made a trip for the things that all guys need! Some of the ladies opted for ‘treasure hunting’ at local thrift shops and/or relaxing. After another somewhat rainy attitude adjustment we enjoyed a potluck supper in the clubhouse followed by an evening of card playing.

Tuesday it was lunch on our own. This time we held our attitude adjustment indoors and stayed drier. After a supper on our own, it was more cards..

Wednesday morning many of us started the day off right by going to a nearby breakfast buffet. Then it was time for our business meeting. We were pleased to see two couples who showed up in time for the meeting and spent most of the day with us. The meeting brought us all up to date on birthdays, anniversaries, and other events that took place throughout the summer. We had our 50-50 drawing which was won by our guest, Linda Evans. The afternoon was free time, followed by our usual attitude adjustment and then supper at a great place, Logans Roadhouse. Good food, wonderful company! Since we can’t seem to get enough of that crazy card game we were back at it again that evening.

Thursday morning we enjoyed coffee, donuts and bagels provided by our gracious hosts. Then it was time to bid farewells until next time.
