Christmas Airstream Rally Park was the site of our March outing. 21 rigs attended including guests, John & Marlyn Fischer, our WIT Eastern reps.  We enjoyed pleasant days and cool nights. We had use of the main hall which has great commercial type kitchen facilities which made meal preparations much easier for a sizeable group. The large hall has a huge fireplace on one wall and a fully decorated Christmas tree in one corner. We had lots of room for all of our activities, eating, crafts and games.

About half of us arrived on Thursday and after getting settled we enjoyed a supper of Spaghetti Pie, prepared by Marlene English .  Push was played afterwards.

Craft sessions Friday & Saturday kept us busy decorating shirts and pants with strawberry appliqués to wear at the Florida State Strawberry Festival Rally. The ladies shirts are yellow with jean’s patch pocket on the front with strawberries spilling out over the top. Mens shirts were yellow with one strawberry appliqué.  After the shirts were done we got together and made wind ornaments to hang off our awnings using old CD disks and colorful sheets of foam. Joe Sholtes and Damaris Travers were our instructors.

Friday afternoon Haywood & Louise Padgett, our newest members, celebrated their newly acquired Freedom with a champagne toast for all. We all wish them many safe, happy, healthy miles.

Friday night W.C Herndon and Bill English grilled our burgers and Barb Drapeau fixed baked beans. Fun game of Crazy cards was played afterwards.

Saturday morning George Morgan and Ed miles gave the grills a workout making breakfast of Pancakes, sausage and scrambled eggs which we all enjoyed.

Members busied themselves with various activities during the day including checking out local shopping and restaurants.  Several will be staying through the week until start of the State Rally which is only a short distance away.

Our Leprechaun Raffle Babes did a great job during our Saturday Happy Hour. Lots of tickets were sold and some terrific prizes were won by happy participants. Our annual corned beef and cabbage dinner was ably prepared by George Shaughnessy in his “blow” pot. It was delicious as usual.  Fittingly, dessert of Irish Coffee followed.

Yankee Trader was played and enjoyed by all. Those few $5 bills made the rounds before it was over. A gift costing about $5 is wrapped in a plain brown paper bag and put with others on a table. A name is drawn and that person gets to pick a bag and opens it. The next person called gets to pick that gift, any other opened gift or a new one off the table. If your gift is picked from you, you get another chance at a wrapped gift which is yours to keep. Everyone is a winner and has a good time.

Sunday morning we had breakfast and then our monthly meetings. We said our good-byes until next outing or until Friday when many of us, 22 rigs in all, met at the Orlando Fairgrounds for the Florida State Rally.
