OCTOBER
2004 Outing Report

The
south Florida Winnie gator October campout was held at La Belle Woods RV
Resort. A total of 20 rigs
attended including 3 rigs belonging to John and Jane Nunes, guests of
the Drapeaus; Val and Ilona Osinski, guests of the De Sepios; and Peter
and Virgin Vandervlugt who discovered us while visiting the WIT web
site. Most of the group arrived on Thursday and after getting set up in
the shade of big old oak trees a large group gathered and had dinner at
Flora & Ellies, a great local restaurant featuring home style
cooking and wonderful desserts. By
Friday afternoon everyone had arrived and congregated at
Bob
and
Joan
Gill
’s new
Itasca
for a champagne toast. Alas
the rig is sporting some roof damage incurred during the recent
hurricane. Hopefully it
will be quickly repaired good as new.
Friday
night supper, provided by the club,
was a feast of lasagna, salad and garlic bread followed by cola
cake which everyone enjoyed. Thanks
to cooks

and Damaris. Afterwards, many members returned to the rec hall and
played the fun game of
Krazy
Kards
.
Ed
Miles
was the big winner and guests Virgin and
Pete
took second and third prize.
Saturday
was another bright and sunny day. After
breakfast of French toast and sausage Damaris assisted by
Joe
and (the other)
Marlene
led the members in decorating shirts for the March State Rally.
Damaris has another winner with this design. We will all look
pretty spiffy! In the
afternoon members took off in different directions. Some enjoyed the
refreshing swimming pool and others ventured out shopping.
Our
happy hour, held in the cool rec hall.
Joe
Sholtes
and
George
Morgan
capably handled the bartending task. The Witchy Raffle babes showed up
and had fun bestowing “black” kisses on the male ticket buyers.
As usual some great prizes were won by lucky participants.
Marcel
and
Barbara
prepared delicious Chicken Marcella for all and members brought their
favorite veggies and desserts. All stayed afterward and enjoyed playing
Yankee Trader led by
Lee
and
Jan
.
We
enjoyed breakfast Sunday morning and then held our monthly meeting.
President
Rick
announced that we have won Club of Excellence for 2004 and distributed
pins to the members present. We
all wish our fellow members who sustained damage from
