Spacecoast Winnies
March 2004 outing

By Lynn Fitts
The Space Coast Winnies held their March meeting at the Florida State Rally in Orlando.   There were 19 member coaches at the Rally.  During the rally we were very pleased to add two new members to our roster:  Don and Diane Hawthorne and Dave and Bev Smalley.  The chapter also nominated former members, Chet & Doris Wasileski, to be Honorary Members.  We still have their coach in attendance as the Hawthorne’s purchased it from Chet & Doris several months ago.
The Rally began a day early for many of our members.  Stuffing goody bags and preparing for registration were Hank & Helen Saller, Les & Del Sables, Ken & Jo-Anne Buckley, Ed & Jean Stover, Max & Jean Kruichak, Thumper Volkmer, Bob & Edie Tomoser, and Herb & Betty Jones.  Coming in early Friday ready to go to work were Ron & Veronica Koehn, Larry & Sue Merow, and Frank & Lillian Ieradi.  The Russells and Fitts’ were also in early preparing the Vendor Hall and setting up Seminar sites.
The weather was gorgeous for the rally days making for excellent attendance overall.  Strawberries were in abundance for breakfast, lunch, dinner and mid-day snacks and drinks.  The dealers outdid themselves in furnishing beautiful new coaches to view and providing refreshments.
Attendees were pleased the Door prize Committee had enough prizes donated to give every coach attending a prize to take home in addition to their goody bags and Rally gift.  Lynn Fitts entered a counted cross stitch picture in the Arts & Crafts show, winning a blue ribbon for the piece.  Ed & Jean Stover were all ready to enter one of their dogs in the "Pooch Parade".  Nancy Russell had even made a costume but a schedule conflict prevented their participation.
On Tuesday morning, after a continental breakfast and the Winnie-Gator State Club meeting, all said their goodbyes until next month’s campout.  It will be held at Holiday Travel Park  of Cypress Gardens at Winter Haven, FL on April 16, 17, 18.
