Ocala Sunbirds
Feb 2004 Outing

The February campout was held at 'The Oaks' in Bushnell, FL. There were 13 rigs in attendance, almost all of the Birds rigs arrived a day early on the 12th. Members present were the Bresnicks, Cartwright, Damms, Dunns, Faces, Meyers, Nicholsons, Richardsons, Saittas, Spillers, Vanamans, VanHees and one guest, Mary & George Nicholson's daughter Diana. The weather was nice on Thursday. We enjoyed each others stories about our previous months escapades. A great lunch was served by the ladies of the campground, and most of us went and enjoyed not having to make our own. I know the ladies loved this. On Thursday evening we played our usual games, Mexican Train and Rummeycube.
Friday morning most of the group went to the Clubhouse for a delicious breakfast served by the ladies at the campground, this was a great treat for us. Then after breakfast some of the group played Mexican train at the Fraces' coach, even though it was a little on the chilly side. The Birds never mind the weather as long as they can play their favorite game. Lunch was served again
by the campground and most of us attended again, never get too much of a good thing. On Friday afternoon we had our usual Cookie and Fellowship. Eating again, seems like that is all we do. Friday night for dinner we had Chili, Rice and cornbread provided by the hosts Barbara & Mike Mokszyski, along with salads provided by the rest of the group. The meal was delicious. After dinner
cleanup, most of us played a couple games of Left-Right-Center, Mary Nicholson's daughter Diana, won one game and MaryAnn
Saitta won the second game. Then we had two tables of Mexican Train, a good time was had by all.
Saturday morning most of the group went to the Clubhouse for breakfast again, we can really get spoiled with this type of campground. But we will enjoy it while we can. At eleven o'clock we had our regular meeting. We received a letter thanking us for our generous donation of greeting cards, that the Vanamans took to the 'Lighthouse For The Blind'. Nancy asked that we hold all of our cards until; the fall meeting, as she has no place to store them right now. We discussed our club attending the March State Rally, at the Orlando Fairgrounds. Those who are going will meet at a specified location, and go into the fairgrounds together. Lillian
Frace discussed the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in the fall of 2005. Some of the group expressed their desire to attend, it gives us plenty of time to think about going. Pete asked who was going to attend the GNR this year, and set up a rendezvous for those going. Saturday after the meeting some of us visited our local Walmart, and some went out to lunch. Later in the afternoon some of us played Mexican train, before we had to cook for dinner. For dinner we had a 'Pizza Party' with pizza being brought in from a local restaurant. The ladies supplied salads to go with pizza, and some great desserts. After dinner we played our favorite games, we had two tables of Mexican train again, with everyone having fun.
Sunday morning brought us some cold temperatures, but that didn't stop the Birds. Most of them made there way out of their rigs to say our good byes and wished everyone a safe trip home. See you all next month.
