Ocala Sunbirds February 2008 Outing The February campout was held at the Ocala RV Camp Resort in Ocala. There were ten rigs attending, everyone arrived on Thursday except for one, and they arrived on Friday. It was a beautiful day on Thursday, and it was Valentines Day also. We all got together in the afternoon for snacks, and a little happy juice. We had not seen each other for a month and we had to get caught up. We have a very nice group of friends in this club. We had to decide who was going out to dinner and they were also having a Valentines dance at the Park also. Well Friday morning came early. At 10:00 we met at the Club house to make ¡Potpourri Rose¢ all of the girls got together and made Roses, they came out beautiful. Jean Aldridge taught us how to make them, she brought all of the kits to make the roses, we thank her for that. After we finished the Roses it was lunch time, most everyone brought their lunch up to the Club house and had their lunch together. After lunch they had a game of Bean Bag Baseball, the men challenged the women, well the men won. We will have to try harder next time. At six o¢clock we had a Pot Luck dinner. The host made a Meat Loaf and the rest of the members brought vegetables, salads and desserts. Coffee was provided. After dinner Rich Bock started a Game of Bingo. It was a 50/50. 50 for the winner and 50 to go to our Charities. Ken Aldridge won the first two games and Ron Scholtisek won the third game. After the game we all decided to call it a night. Saturday morning there was a Continental Breakfast at the Club house. After breakfast we had a general meeting at ten o¢clock. Several things were discussed. Future campouts were discussed, and the March campout in Orlando. We also decided to have happy hour earlier around 3:00 - 3:30pm with just lite snacks. After the meeting was adjourned we watched a Film on CPR, and were instructed how to do it correctly. At noon we all met at the Club house to eat our lunch together. After lunch everyone went their own way, some went to take a nap, some went shopping, others just did nothing. When three o¢clock came around I went to the Club house to see how this new Happy hour was working out. They were doing OK, now they will be able to eat there dinner when the time comes. For dinner tonight the Park was having a HOT DOG ROAST so you could roast your hot dogs out on the big fire if you wanted to, or you could cook whatever you wanted inside. Some of us cooked inside, we ate inside, because our Hosts made Beans and Salads, and Desserts. Everything was great. And by the way I have not mentioned our hosts they were Herm and Jan Barringhaus and Ree & Cliff Spiller and they were GREAT HOSTS. Sunday morning there was a Continental Breakfast at the Club house. It was a good place to say our good byes. It was a fantastic weekend, and it was wonderful getting together with all of our friends. SEE YOU ALL IN MARCH GOD WILLING SAFE TRAVELS !! Respectfully Submitted, Barbara Dunn Richard and Kathleen Bock, President
