Ocala Sunbirds

January 2008 - STATE CAMP-OUT - Orlando Fairgrounds.  - Orlando, FL

Scene and Heard !

There were seven rigs in attendance. Most of them came in on Thursday and the rest came in on Friday. Most of Thursday was on your own, but we did have a happy hour.

Friday morning brought some colder weather, and the Bus for the RV Show in Tampa. Quite a bunch of our members traveled to Tampa to check out the new RV’s, no one came back with a new one. They all said they had a great time. They got back just in time for happy hour. At six o’clock we had a catered dinner which was wonderful. After dinner different groups played cards or different games. Our group played there favorite game of Mexican Train.

Saturday was another chilly morning, there was a Catered Breakfast, it was very
good. After breakfast there was a Board meeting, then a General Meeting where the March State Rally was discussed at length. The Chapters were each asked to donate four to six Items for the Cake Walk. After the General Meeting was over, our Sun Birds had their own meeting. It was a short meeting just to clear up a couple questions. At Two PM there was Seminar on Identity Theft. Then at Four PM it was Happy Hour again. At Happy Hour we had a 50/50 Raffle which would be drawn after dinner tonight. The weather was starting to get a little nasty outside, they were threatening tornadoes. Dinner was at Six PM and it was excellent, the weather was bad outside but we were inside. Well they had the drawing for the 50/50 and one of our Sun Birds won, we thought that was wonderful an Gene Vanaman did also. We Played a game with quarters after dinner was over, and everything was picked up, and Gene’s wife Nancy almost won that game, she was next to last. She was one quarter away from winning.
When we got through playing it had stopped raining, it had really rained hard for a long time, I am glad we were in the building. Sunday morning comes too soon, most went down for a continental breakfast and had to say their Good-byes. It was a great weekend, and it was wonderful getting together with all of our friends.
SEE YOU ALL IN FEBRUARY GOD WILLING!
                                               SAFE TRAVELS !!
