Ocala Sunbirds October 2008 Outing October State Meeting The weather was great for the outing. Thursday was a day you could do what you wanted to do, there was nothing going on, only a Social Hour at 4:00 pm . So we went to see friends and catch up on the gossip. Most everyone went out to dinner, so we did then went to visit my brother who lives in the area. Friday morning the meetings start so most people are busy attending meetings. It was lunch on your own, then its 1:00pm a Sky Med Presentation followed by that good old ice cream social. Then we go back to the coach to catch a few winks then its 4:00pm Happy Hour again, more snacks, and a 50/50 raffle – didn’t win again! Then we go back to the coach again to get something to drink to go with our Catered dinner which will be ready at 6:00pm , do we ever stop eating! At 7:30pm they are having a Bingo. I guess I will stay and donate some more money. Saturday 8:30am they wee having a catered breakfast and it was delicious. After breakfast The Sunshine Winnies were having a meeting, so we went to that meeting because the Ocala Sun Birds did not have enough members to have one. After that meeting was over the Winnie Gators had their general membership meeting, and we all had to attend. After all of these meetings I went back to my coach and rested for awhile. Chuck and I went up to the Boon Docks Café around the pool and had a sandwich, and then we went and did a little sightseeing around Sarasota . We had to be back by 3:00pm for Happy Hour and the big Raffle, we were a bit late but we made it. Well I didn’t win anything on Raffle so we went back to the coach to rest for a bit. There is a catered dinner scheduled for 6:00pm , and it was excellent. After dinner I stayed for games and cards in the Club house. There was several things going on around the park, like costume contests etc. I think a good time was had by all. Sunday 8:00-900am – Continental Breakfast at the Club house everyone usually says their good buys, have safe trip – see you next month!
