Suncoast Winnie-Gators April
2005 Outing Our Chapter meeting was held April 22–24th, 2005 at Ocala Ranch RV Park, Ocala, Florida We had a turn out of 21 coaches from our Suncoast Winnie-Gators chapter this weekend. Members attending were: Busch, Davis, Franzen, Haynes, Horwath, Johnson, Maenner, McKay, Millard, Myers, Peterson, Porter, Schmittzeh, Sofarelli, Tuzzolo, Wacker, Wood (J), and Wood (W). Also guest attending were, Mike & Irene Brant, Jim & Gloria Copenhaver and Dan & Marion Michaels, who joined our chapter during the weekend. Except for some rain on Saturday the weather couldn’t have been more perfect with warm sunny days and cool evenings Some members arrived early on Thursday, anxious to start the fun filled weekend at Ocala Ranch RV Park. Some folks went out to dinner and others stayed at the park and cooked out. Friday was a on your own day and we all gathered for a social hour where we shared snacks and stories of our happenings since we last met. Butch & Cindy Davis and Donna & Ralph Haynes cooked an impromptu chili dinner that evening when a dinner for 8 became two huge pots full. Later in the evening some members gathered at the clubhouse to play cards & games. Saturday started with a hearty breakfast of French
toast made with a walnut topping and sausage at the clubhouse. How yummy
it all was. After the
breakfast we had our chapter meeting followed with a seminar by Skymed. The rains came and forced our game of beanbag baseball
inside. It was another heated
game between the men & women, which the men won by a landslide.
(Congratulations to the men) Social
hour began at 3:30 and we all enjoyed the many tasty dishes that were
brought to share. Later that
evening at 6:30, our host for the weekend Butch
& Cindy Davis, Donna & Ralph Haynes & Ron & Donna Wacker welcomed
us to a tropical theme evening with leis, fans and flowers for the ladies
hair. An exciting evening of food, fun & entertainment was in store
for all. It was a Luau dinner with what they called the volcano (chicken
& rice with several toppings), a salad and wonderful individual
pineapple upside down cakes. The hosts were all decked out in tropical
clothing and the girls were dressed in hula skirts. On Sunday there was a Continental breakfast of muffins, juice & coffee served by our hosts. After we said our good-byes, we went to pack up our rigs to head home…looking forward to our next exciting campout, which will be a state meeting at the Turning Wheel Resort in Orlando Submitted by: Contact: President - Pete Schmittzeh
