Suncoast Winnie-Gators
April 2002 Campout

Beautiful weather, a lovely campground and lots of happy campers made the April campout a really fun time.  Sun Lake RV Resort is always great -- pride in ownership really shows in every visit.  Seven couples (Coccaro, Crutchfield, Prazen, Maenner, Myers, Schurecht and J. Wood) arrived early and enjoyed conversation by the lake, dinner at a local restaurant, and relaxing in our RV's in the evening.  Others began arriving early on Friday (Benzel, Cold/Lehmann, Fitzgerald, Hizer, Houston, Keener, W. Wood).  Friday evening all went to Roaring 20's Pizza and Pipes where we enjoyed good food and great organ music.  Our group submitted several requests; nearly all were played and our group was recognized by name to the audience.  Bob and Bev Forgues arrived on Saturday in time for our business meeting and Jim and Anna Lee Knight drove in Saturday afternoon in time for bean bag baseball.  Jim has been experiencing a great deal of discomfort for several weeks.  Lets hope his doctor can help him with relief real soon.

John and Louise Maenner, weekend hosts, surprised us with a superb breakfast Saturday morning of omelets in a bag, along with toast, coffee and juice.  What a neat idea, especially for a large group!  Saturday's dinner consisted of the Maenner's special hamburgers, baked beans, slaw and a refreshing dessert of cream puffs...  Sunday we enjoyed homemade banana breaad with juice and coffee.  Thanks, Maenner's!

At our Saturday business meeting President Coccaro presented the plan for a Suncoast web page.  If you have any ideas for this, please contact Marguerite.

Saturday afternoon we had a rousing double-header ball game.  Due to the large attendance, we had enough players for two teams, with each team winning a game.  Our evenings were filled with card games, dominoes and just relaxing.

This is the last news letter until September.  Many of our members will be traveling before or immediately after the May State Meeting.  Here's wishing for everyone safe travels; much enjoyment in seeing our great country, family and friends; and great fun at GNR!
