Florida Suncoast Winnie-Gators

December 2004 Outing

Our Chapter meeting was held December 10-12th, 2004 at Blueberry Hill RV Resort, Bushnel, Florida

We had a turn out of 18 coaches that attended our Suncoast Winnie-Gators chapter this weekend for our Christmas Party. Members attending were Blakeney, Busch, Franzen, Gest, Harrison, Haynes, Horwath, Johnson, Keener, Lewis, Maenner, Millard, Peterson, Porter, Schmittzeh, Schurecht, Tuzzolo, and Wood (J).   Also we has guest, Marion & Georgia Harrison who joined our chapter during the weekend.  The weather couldn’t have been a more perfect fall day with warm sunny days and cool evenings

Some members arrived early on Thursday, anxious to start the fun filled weekend at Encore RV Resort.  Friday morning members Ray & Carolyn Porter treated us to ‘Breakfast in a Bag’.  Later that afternoon a game of beanbag baseball between the men and women was enjoyed by all with the women claiming victory for the day. We all gathered for a social hour where we shared snacks and stories of our happenings since we last met.  Later that evening we had a campfire where we enjoyed each other’s company and made Smores’.  Some members decided to play cards & games at the clubhouse.

Saturday started with a hearty breakfast at the clubhouse. How yummy it all was.  After the breakfast we had our chapter meeting.  The nominating committee gave their list of nominations for the 2005 officers.

Directors: Norm Blakeney, Bill Meyers, Jarvis Wood and Gail Wood

Secretary: Donna Haynes

Treasurer: Carolyn Porter

2nd Vice President: John Maenner

1st Vice President: Carol Cook

President: Peter Schmittzeh

Members were asked if there were any other nominations from the floor – no nominations were made.  All ballots were cast with unanimous approval. New officers for 2005 will be installed at the December meeting.  That afternoon we had another heated game of beanbag baseball, it was an exciting game between the men & women, which the men won by a landslide.  (Congratulations to the men)  Social hour began at 3:30 and we all enjoyed the many tasty dishes that were brought to share.  Later that evening our host for the weekend Louise & John Maenner and Linda & Dan Tuzzolo put on a Mexican Fiesta dinner with Chili, Burritos and a taco salad, and a wonderful fudge brownie with malted ball whipped cream.  It was truly a simply sinful dessert.  Later that evening we enjoyed yet again another campfire.  It is a great time in Florida being able to enjoy our beautiful evenings sitting outside.

On Sunday there was a Continental breakfast of muffins, juice & coffee served by our hosts.  After we said our good-byes, we went to pack up our rigs to head home…looking forward to our next exciting campout, which will be a state meeting at the Turning Wheel Resort in Orlando
