Florida Suncoast Winnie-Gators February 2006 Outing Our
Chapter meeting was held February 17-19th, 2006 at Citrus Valley RV Resort
in Clermont, Florida We
had a turn out of 24 coaches attend this weekend from our Suncoast
Winnie-Gators chapter. The
weather couldn’t have been more perfect with warm sunny days and cool
evenings. Some members arrived early on Thursday, anxious to start the fun
filled weekend. In the
afternoon after we had all set up we had an informal get together and
everyone gathered around to catch up on their adventures. …That evening
dinner was on our own and after everyone ate we had a bonfire which was
enjoyed by all that attended. On
Friday many more members arrived and in the afternoon we all gathered for
a social hour where we shared many delicious snacks and stories of our
adventures since we had last met. Several
smoothie machines were making specialty drinks for all to enjoy
compliments of our chapter. Friday’s dinner was also on our own and
after dinner many of us played games in the clubhouse.
Another bonfire was ablaze for those who wanted to sit outside and
just chat. Saturday
started with a hearty breakfast served by our hosts, Donna & Ron Wacker, Butch & Cindy Davis, Buck & Jeannie
Beckner and Donna & Ralph Haynes, French toast made with a pecan
topping, sausage, fruit, juice & coffee. How yummy it all was.
We had our chapter meeting at 10 am and made announcement that we
would all be meeting at 9:30 to go into the March Rally together.
We also welcomed our newest members Richard
& Nancy Hartwell from Largo.
Directly after our meeting some members went out shopping, some
played card games and others went to play a rousing game of Beanbag
Baseball. Around 4 we
gathered for a social hour and lite snacks.
Our hosts for the weekend had a wonderful dinner of ham, scalloped
potatoes, green beans, toss salad and a delicious dessert which was a
Belgium waffle topped with fresh fruit, ice cream, chocolate, cherries and
whipped cream. After dinner we had a Sweetheart dance and romantic music
was played for all of those who wished to dance.
The clubhouse was decorated in hearts, candles and had candy on all
the tables. A small token
gift was given to the couple married the longest and the shortest amount
of time. Bob
& Lou Peterson married 61 years and Darwin
& Judy Michielsen married 7 years.
Fun was had by all. On
Sunday there was a Continental breakfast of muffins, juice & coffee
served by our hosts. After we
said our good-byes, we went to pack up our rigs to head home…looking
forward to our next exciting campout, which will be at the Florida State
Rally in Orlando Submitted
