Suncoast Winnie-Gators Our Chapter meeting was held September 15th
– 17th, 2006 at Encore RV Park, Lutz, Fl. We had a turn out of 19 coaches from our Suncoast
Winnie-Gators chapter this weekend. Members
attending were: Blakeney, Brant, Busch, Cipolla, Copenhaver, Davis,
Franzen, Hartwell, Haynes, Maenner, McKay, Millard, Myers, Peterson,
Schmittzeh, Sofarelli, Tuzzolo, Wacker, and Wood (J). Friday we arrived ready for a great weekend of seeing
our friends after the summer travels.
We all gathered for a social hour in the afternoon where we shared
snacks and stories of our happenings since we last met.
After Happy Hour we on our own for dinner. Some went out while others cooked at their coach.
Later that evening, our host for the weekend, (Brant,
Copenhaver, & Tuzzolo’s) showed the movie “Blue Collar Comedy
Tour” which many of us attended. It
was a hysterical movie and we enjoyed it very much.
Some of the others in our group played games and just visited. Saturday started with our host serving us a hearty
breakfast of Scrambled eggs, Biscuits & Gravy, coffee and juice.
Shortly after breakfast a Chapter meeting was held and after that
we had a 50/50 drawing with winners Louise
Maenner and Helen Meyers winning $24 dollars each. During the day many enjoyed the amenities of the park,
(horseshoes, shuffleboard and the pool). At 3:30 we enjoyed Happy Hour and
socializing with all our friends. That
evening we went to the clubhouse which was decorated to the hilt for a
Western theme evening of food and fun.
When we went in there was a slide show featuring the 2006 GNR and
many pictures from our other camping adventures.
After that great presentation we enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner
with all the fixins’. We
had BBQ sandwich, Baked Beans, Potato salad and for desert BROWNIES…
YUM!!! After dinner we had horse races… but these were not the
normal camping horse races. Our
host surprised us and we had live jockeys riding stick ponies that we put
bets on. It was hilarious and
the highlight of our weekend. So
much fun we’ll never play the horse races the same old way. On Sunday there was a Continental breakfast of
muffins, juice & coffee served by our hosts.
After we said our good-byes, we went to pack up our rigs to head
home…looking forward to our next exciting campout, which will be a state
meeting at the Sun & Fun Resort
in Sarasota, Florida. Thanks again to our weekend host Mike & Irene Brant, Jim & Gloria Copenhaver, & Dan &
