By Bruce Cinader Secretary

Eight early bird coaches arrived Thursday April 3rd at the Sun Resort in Apopka, Florida. The first three to arrive were the Cinader, Collins, and Schultz families, these three couples went to Chili’s for lunch and were joined later in the day by the Bock, Dunn, Fumia, Garvin, and the Underwood couples later in the afternoon. We all enjoyed each others company in the afternoon and during our happy hour. At 5:00 PM we had a hotdog and hamburger cookout with salad and beans and most of the other usual picnic trimmings. After dinner we gathered to socialize further and have a more laughs till we called it a night. We even had the chance to meet some other interesting characters in the campground during our social time together. It was especially nice to see our two newest member couples able to attend, Chuck and Barb Dunn and Ted and Janis Fumia.

Friday morning we all had breakfast on our own then most of the men went out shopping together while the women did the same. Friday also brought the ninth coach driven by the Anglin couple.

We all enjoyed our happy hour under the trees with each other and had a great spaghetti dinner prepared by the campground including tea and garlic bread and many dessert selections. After dinner some of us played cards and still some others practiced there karaoke skills, we all had fun and sang and played cards thru the night until it was time to retire.

Saturday morning the campground put on a great breakfast of pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs with coffee, juice and milk, a bargain for only $4.00 a head. We had our club meeting about an hour later, after the room was cleaned up and available for us to use. After our meeting, we all gathered to take advantage of the put-put golf course that was there.

Again we had a lot of fun even though the skill levels seemed to range from bad to worse. Maybe it was all the leaves on the course or the short clubs we had to use, but still a lot of fun was had, laughing at, and with each other. After finishing 18 holes we all had a chance to look at the flea market going on inside the campground and then find other fun things to do. The girls got together for some painting and craft work. Of course we did not miss our happy hour together in the afternoon and left for dinner at the Catfish Restaurant at 5:30 PM for a real enjoyable meal together.

Sunday was time for our continental breakfast at Bob and Alice Garvin’s coach and last good byes. After making sure the larger coaches could safely maneuver out of their parking spots we all left and headed for home.
