Sunshine Winnies
April 2005 Outing
Al & Fran Schultz
The
April Rally of the Sunshine Winnies was held at the Lake Park KOA at Lake
Park, Ga. Sun Coast RV hosted the event.
Most of the attendees arrived on Thursday and started the evening
festivities with beer, wine, cheese and veggie trays. The band
"Cross Roads" provided the music for listening and dancing
pleasure.
The Friday breakfast was served at the main hall and consisted of
pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. The meal was sooo good many
went back for seconds.
Later in the morning Sun Coast conducted tech talks on various coach
systems that was informative and well attended.
Some of us toured the Valdosta area looking for Wal-Mart. What Else?
We finally found one after getting directions from the locals.
On the way back to the RV park we saw another Wal-Mart much closer
to camp. Oh, well it was fun just touring around the city.
The dinner meal consisted of roast beef and all the trimmings. After
dinner "Cross Roads" again provided the music for our listing
and dancing pleasure. Ed Phelps won the very nice $50.00 door prize.
Saturday breakfast was served in the main hall and consisted of eggs,
sausage, biscuits and gravy, grits and coffee. Heard some comments
of the grits, folks either love them or hate them.
The Red Hat Tea party was enjoyed by the ladies. Gift bags and
prizes were given out. Also, small craft projects were assembled.
Saturday afternoon bingo was played by many of the attendees. Peggy
Collins and Fran Schultz each won a nice prize.
The evening meal consisted of baked ham with all the trimmings. The
entertainment was provided by a new band from Live Oak, Fla. Most
attendees were too tired to dance and returned to their coaches early.
Sunday morning rolls and coffee were served at the main hall. After
the second cup of coffee we said our good-byes, closed the slides,
unhooked the utilities, and headed home.
