The Florida Sunshine Winnies held their February campout at the Okalwaha RV Park in the Ocala National Forest.  In attendance were Roy & Bernice Johnson , John Sorensen/ Joyce Nissen/ Lucille Greer, Buster & Joy Williams, Jack & Peggy Collins, Bill & Barbara Stewart, and Al & Fran Schultz.

Early Arrivals on Thursday prepared for the “Hobo Weekend” by building a campfire for  cooking and warmth in the cool weather.

Friday Morning everybody gathered around the campfire to keep warm since the temperature was in the 30’s.  For lunch we did hot dogs and pizza.  For dinner the group headed for the VFW Lodge at Fort McCoy for all you can eat fish fry with all the trimmings.  The food was excellent.

Saturday the weather was better (warmer) . In keeping with the theme, most memberes came to breakfast dressed as hobos.  The various hobo outfits showed amazing imagination and provided the group with great source for laughter.  Our host John Sorensen and Joyce Nissan and co-host George and Joy Williams fixed a wonderful breakfast of pancakes and sausage.

After our general meeting three hobo bags with all the “hobo essentials” were auctioned off.  Joyce Nissan did a great job as auctioneer.

The Saturday dinner consisted of Hobo stew which was served in tin cans, some with the labels still attached.

The 50/50 drawing was won by our guest, Lucille Greer.

Sunday morning we gathered around the campfire for coffee and prepared to head for home.  It was a fun filled weekend and enjoyed by all the attendees.
