| Florida Sunshine Winnies Campout Report March 2008 Chapter President is Bob Garvin 407-671-6636 By Bruce Cinader Secretary Four coaches arrived Wednesday March 5th at the Central Florida Fair Grounds in Orlando, Fl., to be able to run the bingo night. The coaches arriving to do the bingo night were the Cinader’s, Collin’s, Garvin’s and Schultz’s. We all had time for a nice dinner at the Olive Garden restaurant before returning at 6:30 PM to start the bingo on time at 7:00 PM, where the Bock’s had joined us to help with the event. We had 6 games that paid out $65.00 for single winners and $33.00 for split winners in the first 5 of six games, the last game was a cover all that paid $99.00. All of the $425.00 taken in was paid out in prize money. Thursday we had breakfast at 8:00 AM and the Underwood’s arrived, and all went to the opening ceremonies at 11:00 AM. We all had a chance to look at the vendor booths and new motor homes, before getting together to run the cake walk at 3:00 PM. The cake walk raised about $365.00 that was turned over to the state club. At 5:30 we gathered for the dinner. The Night Owls attempted to entertain us after our dinner; some people seemed to enjoy it somewhat. Friday we participated in the state club activities which included a catered breakfast, an ice cream social and a catered dinner. After dinner we had some great entertainment that all seemed to enjoy by Homer Noodleman. He was a combination comedian, magician and all around entertainer with a good ability at impersonation and quick change artist thrown in for good measure. There were ticket drawings and prizes won before we all called it a night. Saturday again brought a catered breakfast and, a wine and cheese party later in the day. We all had time to play the games and check out the vendor offerings from the over 50 vendors and to also check out the many motor homes on display. After the wine party we all gathered together in the Garvin’s coach and had a lot of fun with Vangie’s new karaoke machine.
We all had a turn at doing our best and had a great time even though we realized none of us were ready for American Idol. We then gathered again for dinner at 5:30 PM, and once again had great entertainment after dinner. Our entertainers were the Marlins, a very outstanding group of brothers that played very good music, and played it very well. We all loved the group. Sunday was time for our continental breakfast and last good byes.
