| Florida Sunshine Winnies Campout Report May 2008 Chapter President is Bob Garvin 407-671-6636 By Bruce Cinader Secretary Seven coaches arrived Thursday May 1, 2008 at the Olde Mill Stream in Umatilla, Florida. The group consisted of the Bock’s, Cinader’s, Collin’s, Dunn’s, Schultz’s, Stewart’s, and Underwood’s. All were set up early and had time to socialize and have time for shopping and lunch on our own before our happy hour at 3:00PM. Our hosts were Bruce and Vangie Cinader, with Jack and Peggy Collins co-hosting. Vangie prepared our lasagna dinner with garlic bread, salad and desserts that was promptly held at 6:00PM. We were finished by 7:00PM and had time for karaoke and the nickel game after the delicious dinner. Friday morning from 8:00AM to 9:00AM we all enjoyed a breakfast of waffles and eggs cooked to order, (thanks to our co-host Jack Collins), with bagels and juice and coffee. After breakfast most of the guys went shopping to Jacks favorite place, the local Wal-Mart store. Most of the girls went to shop with each other at their favorite places. At 3:00PM we started our happy hour and played scrabble and other games and sang our karaoke again. Our dinner at 6:00PM was a honey glazed spiral cut ham with green beans, mashed potatoes, salad, many desert selections, and dinner rolls. After dinner we had 8 games of bingo, with five of the eight games being won by the Underwood team. We all had lots of laughs and enjoyed the games even though most of us didn’t win any of the games. Saturday we again had a wonderful breakfast of waffles, ham and cheese omelets, sausage, toast, coffee, and juice. Our meeting was at 9:40AM and after the meeting, the girls all painted and did craft work and the guys found other things to do. Our favorite event of the campout was our 6:00PM Filipino dinner prepared by Vangie. She had seven different main dishes prepared of authentic Filipino food and it was all served on time, hot, and all delicious. There was also salad and desserts and other side trimmings, and we all stuffed ourselves with seconds and thirds it was so delicious. Some commented that it was the best dinner ever prepared for our group. The desserts prepared by the others in the group were equally delicious. After dinner we had time for poker, pass the trash card game, and the infamous nickel game. Sunday was time for our final meal, and we still had pancakes, bagels, donuts, muffins, and some left over desserts, with juice and coffee. It was much nicer than the usual continental breakfast we usually settle for. We then all took our time breaking camp and enjoying the beautiful weather before heading for home, wondering what the next campout will bring, after having such a great time at this one.
