Editor Barbara Wilson Seasons in the Sun, Titusville January 21 , 2005

Our January campout was again held at Seasons in the Sun in Titusville, with seven rigs in attendance. Those attending were: John & Joanne Huffe; Ralph & Barbara Wilson; Bob & Joyce Somerday; Art & Odete Hayes; Billy & Gail Barnes; Frank & Claudia Mays and Frank & Fran Daidone. TCT welcomed new members Frank & Claudia Mays and look forward to many campouts with them.

Unusual to say the least would be my description of the weather. Florida is supposed to be warm and sunny, however with temperatures predicted to plummet to 28 degrees everyone bundled up and prepared for the worst. Fortunately for us it never became that cold. We were able to enjoy the outside games and planned festivities. Happy hour went off as planned and as usual we all gathered at the clubhouse for a rip-roaring game of cards. If we get any rowdier they will kick us out.

Season in the Sun has a spacious clubhouse that provides a safe haven from the unpredictable weather. As we walked to the club house another group was gathered around a roaring fire. IN FLORIDA? Yep, the cold weather really was exciting. Thank goodness for the clubhouse for the warmth it provided and a place for all of us to congregate for a hot and heavy card game. Everyone arrived early except for the Daidones.

A little mix-up in reservations for the Barnes and Mays pushed their setup day to Friday since their site wasn’t ready until the next day. Set-up was easy for the Barnes since they travel without pets but it was a different story for the Mays who travel with "Bambi" a little Chihuahua and their bird. Both couples had arrived early in order to set-up early.

Several gathered Friday for a few games of wholly board and bocce ball. The TCT provided the funds for Gail and Billy to host our afternoon spread of cheeses, cold cuts, pickles, olives, chips and soup. Thanks Gail for the delicious home-made chicken soup and for topping it off with strawberry shortcake. northward trip to the WIT Grand National Rally in Iowa and rounding it off for a few days of fun in Branson, MO. We look forward to hearing about all the trips as they return to our campouts.

Saturday night found us back at the clubhouse for a great feast of Italian dishes. Everyone was so full and lethargic that we all went back to our motor homes. Thanks to Odete for coordinating the meal.

Also, thanks to the Florida Space Coast Orbiters (a FMCA group) for sharing the kitchen and recreational facilities and for inviting us to share breakfast with them on Sunday morning.

Everyone left looking forward to our next campout at Okeechobee Billy, everyone really enjoyed this.

The Huffes shared with the group their trip to Mardi Gras in 2004 and suggested that we have a "trip sharing" at each campout. Their trip to New Orleans was a part of their honeymoon and for celebration of their first anniversary they plan to travel with WIT to San Antonio, Texas. Happy Anniversary!

Members Barnes and Somerday plan to caravan together and experience the same trip with WIT in February 2005. The Wilsons have planned a trip to Texas as they travel to Illinois for a family
