March 2006 Outing Arcadia
Peace River RV Park,
Arcadia, Florida Finding
new ground to venture has become a challenge of our new Wagon Master Ralph
Wilson. Ralph selected
Arcadia Peace River which is centrally located in the State and had not
been explored by the Treasure Coast Travelers.
Some of our members had camped there but had not visited this
beautiful campground in years. Unique
to this campground is the Peace River.
It offers canoe rentals for a peaceful cruise on the river and for
the curious camper a hunt for shark’s teeth.
The campground remains very beautiful considering it was hit by the
storms and is still in restoration. TCT
members Frank & Claudia Mays, Ralph & Barbara Wilson and Billy
& Gail Barnes hooked up with retired WIT Eastern Reps John and Marlyn
Fisher. John & Marlyn
live close by and were able to join us all day Saturday.
We had a perfect weekend for this campout. The weather cooperated and we were able to find a little
shade that allowed us to spend time outside.
A fun day was enjoyed by all – playing games, eating home-made
ice cream and keyboard music– not to mention the wonderful meals we
shared. We all decided to
have dinner at a local restaurant that John and Marlyn recommended. We held a short business
meeting and received our Wagon Master’s schedule for TCT’s campouts
through November. (see below) During
this meeting it was realized that our members were taking off for summer
vacation and we would not meet again until September at Blueberry Hill RV
Park in Bushnell, FL. This will be the last
newsletter until we return in September. Enjoy your summer…Gail
